Atletico Madrid have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Atalanta to sign Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman.
In a statement on Sunday, the Spanish top-flight club said, “(The clubs) have agreed to the transfer of 28-year-old Nigerian international Ademola Lookman, who is already in Madrid. The agreement is pending a medical examination and the signing of his contract.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is worth around €40 million, with Lookman set to become one of Atlético’s key attacking additions this season.
The Nigerian winger, who scored a hat-trick in Atalanta’s 2024 Europa League final win over Bayer Leverkusen, has scored three goals in 19 appearances across all competitions for the Italian side this season.
