Former Vice President of Nigeria and African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader, Atiku Abubakar, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerian Christians on the joyous occasion of Easter.
In a statement from his Media Office, Atiku urged the government to uphold its constitutional responsibility to safeguard the security and welfare of all citizens and residents.
“Atiku Abubakar extends warm felicitations to all Christians in Nigeria and across the world as they celebrate Easter,” the statement said.
He described Easter as a season of reflection, sacrifice, and divine love, encouraging Christians to use the period for introspection, repentance, and renewal of hope.
“Atiku encourages all Christians to emulate the selflessness, forgiveness, and compassion of Jesus Christ in their daily lives. The essence of Easter is sacrifice and love. We must seize this opportunity to show genuine love and compassion to one another,” the statement added.
The former Vice President also reminded the government of its fundamental duty under the Constitution to protect lives and property, ensuring an environment where all Nigerians can thrive, regardless of tribe or religion.
“Atiku wishes all Christian families a happy, peaceful, and joyous Easter celebration,” the statement concluded.
