Bandits Block Zamfara Roads, Kill One, Abduct Several Travellers in Fresh Attacks

Several travellers have been abducted following renewed attacks by suspected bandits who blocked major highways in parts of Zamfara State.

The incident was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst, Bakatsine.

According to reports, the attackers laid siege to the Janbako–Maradun road in Maradun LGA, where they killed one person and kidnapped multiple passengers.

In a separate incident, the gunmen also intercepted vehicles along the Gurusu–Anka route, abducting occupants, including traders returning from a local market in Bukkuyum LGA.

The coordinated attacks have raised fresh concerns over worsening insecurity on rural roads in the state, with authorities yet to release an official statement on the incidents.
