Iran has condemned recent Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, describing them as a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Speaking on the development, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that continued attacks could undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts.
According to a translated statement shared on X, he said, “Israel’s renewed incursion into Lebanon constitutes a blatant violation of the original ceasefire agreement.
“This represents a perilous indication of deceit and a lack of commitment to possible agreements.
“The persistence of these actions will make negotiations futile. Our fingers remain on the trigger. Iran will never forsake its Lebanese sisters and brothers.”
Meanwhile, both the United States and Israel have maintained that the two-week ceasefire arrangement does not extend to Lebanon.
However, Iran and Pakistan, which played roles in brokering the truce, insist that Lebanon is covered under the agreement.
