INEC Updates PDP Leadership List, Confirms Abdulrahman, Anyanwu as NWC Members

David Egbede, March 30, 2026March 30, 2026

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated its official website to reflect the current leadership structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following developments from the party’s national convention.

A check on the commission’s portal shows that Abdulrahman Mohammed has been listed as the PDP National Chairman, while Senator Samuel Anyanwu appears as the National Secretary, alongside other members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

The update is seen as a significant step in formalising the party’s leadership positions after internal processes and convention outcomes, as INEC maintains statutory responsibility for publishing the details of recognised party officials.

The move may also signal regulatory acknowledgment of the PDP’s current structure amid ongoing political realignments ahead of future elections.

As of the time of filing this report, the PDP is yet to issue an official statement regarding the update on INEC’s website.
