Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have recorded major gains in ongoing security operations across Benue State, successfully rescuing a kidnapped woman and arresting suspected criminals during intelligence-driven missions.

The operations, carried out on Tuesday, targeted criminal activities in parts of Gwer West and Katsina-Ala Local Government Areas following credible intelligence reports.

In Gwer West, troops deployed from Bilawa-Jor and Naka moved swiftly to Mbapa and Mbabuande communities over reports of armed herders.

During the operation, soldiers uncovered an abandoned hideout believed to have been used by criminals.

Further clearance efforts extending across River Akpako led to the arrest of two suspects, who are now in custody and undergoing investigation.

In a separate operation the same day, troops responded to a kidnapping incident at Tse-Ubena village in Katsina-Ala LGA.

Working alongside the Benue State Civil Protection Guard, security operatives stormed a suspected hideout, resulting in the successful rescue of 28-year-old Mrs. Member Ityavber.

The victim has since been reunited with her family after receiving medical attention, while efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
