David Egbede, March 26, 2026

Troops of Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, have sustained pressure on terrorist elements in Borno and Yobe, recording fresh operational gains in the last 24 hours.

Operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday, revealed that troops, on Wednesday, received 10 persons, who escaped from terrorist captivity in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno.

The reports said the escapees, comprising three adult females and seven minors, were among residents abducted during an attack on Ngoshe community earlier in the month.

It said the victims fled from a terrorist enclave and successfully made their way back to safety.

“They provided useful intelligence on  activities and locations of the terrorists, including the presence of a key commander in the enclave while their profiling is ongoing.

“Air operations also intensified, with the Air Component conducting night patrols along key supply routes covering Auno, Molai, Konduga and Maiduguri axis.

“During the mission, aerial surveillance detected suspicious movements south of Auno, prompting probing fire by the aircraft,” it said.

The report further revealed that troops intercepted suspected logistics suppliers to terrorists during a night patrol in Yusufari Local Government Area of Yobe.

It added that troops recovered large quantities of Premium Motor Spirit concealed in sacks and arrested several suspects, including a driver, a motor boy and fuel station staff.

According to the report, recovered items and suspects are currently in custody for further investigation.

Military authorities said the ongoing operations underscored the resolve of troops to sustain offensive actions, disrupt terrorist logistics and ensure  safety of communities in the North-East.
