DMW boss, Davido, has said he is no longer focused on gaining Western validation in his music career.
The singer made the remark during an interview on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show.
He said his next phase of music will focus more on African sounds and identity.
Davido noted that after years of global success, including sold-out shows and international recognition, his priorities have shifted.
“I have performed everywhere and sold out arenas. The music I am making now is very African. I am not looking to do Western sounds,” he said.
The artiste added that his career has reached a point where he can focus more on authenticity rather than external approval.
