Former FCT Senator Philip Aduda Officially Defects to the APC

David Egbede, March 18, 2026

Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, who represented the Federal Capital Territory and served as Senate Minority Leader in the 9th National Assembly, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development was announced via the party’s official X handle, where he also pledged to secure victory for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the FCT come 2027.

Aduda was formally received into the APC by the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, accompanied by members of the National Working Committee.

RBN recalls that this development comes shortly after Aduda formally resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing ongoing crises within the party as the reason for his departure.
