The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has approved the immediate payment of March salaries to all state government workers to help them prepare for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
The state government made the announcement in a statement shared on its official X handle on Monday.
According to the statement, the move is intended to enable civil servants and other government employees to make adequate preparations for the festive period marking the end of Ramadan.
“The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has approved the immediate payment of March 2026 salaries to all state government workers,” the statement said, adding that the decision was meant to support workers ahead of the Eid celebrations.
The early salary payment comes as several Nigerian states adopt similar measures to ease financial pressure on public sector workers. States that have announced similar steps include Zamfara State, Kano State, and Kogi State.
