Governor Dauda Lawal Dare of Zamfara State on Friday met with former governor of the state, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting took place during the holy month of Ramadan, where both political figures joined other faithful to observe the evening iftar meal after the day’s fast.
Governor Lawal, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), shared the Ramadan iftar with Yari during their meeting in the holy city.

The encounter has drawn attention among political observers in Zamfara State, coming shortly after the governor’s move to the ruling party.
Although details of their discussions were not disclosed, the meeting marks a rare public appearance of the two prominent Zamfara politicians together since the governor’s recent political realignment.
Ramadan iftar gatherings in Mecca often bring together Muslim faithful from different parts of the world for prayers and reflection during the holy month.
