Four members of the House of Representatives have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP).
Inuwa Garuba (Yamaltu/Deba federal constituency, Gombe), Abdullahi El-Rasheed (Dakku/Nafada federal constituency, Gombe), and Mohammed Audu (Karim Lamido/Lau/Ardo-Kola federal constituency) switched allegiance from the PDP to the APC.
Additionally, Obika Chinedu, representing Abuja Municipal/Bwari federal constituency in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), moved from the LP to the APC.
In the same vein, Adewale Adebayo, who represents Irepodun/Olorunda/Osogbo/Orolu federal constituency of Osun state, formally joined Accord from the PDP.
Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read the defection notices during Wednesday’s plenary.
The lawmakers said internal crises in their former parties prompted their defection.
