PDP Crisis: Appeal Court Confirms Suspension of Anyanwu, Ajibade, and Others

David Egbede, March 9, 2026March 9, 2026

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the suspension of former PDP National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, Deputy Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organizing Secretary Umaru Bature.

The appellate court affirmed their suspension, also upholding the earlier ruling of the Federal High Court delivered by Justice James Omotosho.

The PDP National Working Committee (NWC) had originally suspended Anyanwu and the others on November 1, 2025.

The appellate court on Monday upheld the October 31, 2025 Abuja Federal High Court judgment which restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from recognizing the outcome of the 2025 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
