Manchester City’s hopes of winning the Premier League suffered a major setback on Wednesday after they were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side twice surrendered the lead, with goals from Antoine Semenyo and Rodri cancelled out by Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson. In the dying moments, Savinho saw a shot cleared off the line by Murillo, adding to City’s frustration.

The draw proved costly, particularly as league leaders Arsenal secured a 1-0 win at Brighton, putting the title firmly in the Gunners’ hands. Arsenal are now seven points clear of City, who still have a game in hand, including a crucial clash at the Etihad in April.
City had started brightly, with Semenyo opening the scoring in the 31st minute after Rayan Cherki’s assist, and Rodri restored the lead in the 62nd minute from a corner.
But Forest struck back through Gibbs-White and Anderson, leaving Guardiola to rue another game in which his side lost control in the second half.
Despite City’s dominance, Forest’s resilience under Vitor Pereira showed they have the fight needed to avoid relegation.
