‘I Look Forward to Working with Rivers Assembly Members’ – Fubara

David Egbede, February 25, 2026

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his willingness to work with members of the State House of Assembly in the interest of the people of the state.

The governor made this known while congratulating Ukalikpe Napoleon and Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, winners of the recent bye-elections held in Ahoada East and Khana state constituencies. The elections, conducted on Saturday, February 21, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), were organized to fill vacant seats in the Assembly.

Both lawmakers, elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious with Napoleon winning Ahoada East State Constituency II, while Henrietta secured Khana State Constituency II.

Describing their victories as well deserved, Governor Fubara urged the newly elected legislators to discharge their duties with diligence and integrity, and to justify the confidence placed in them by their constituents.

He said, “It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes,” he said.

“I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state.”

Fubara also lauded the residents of Ahoada East and Khana for conducting themselves peacefully before, during, and after the elections, describing their orderly conduct as a demonstration of democratic maturity.
