Uzor Arukwe Threatens Legal Action Over False Affair Rumours

Happiness Udisifan, February 12, 2026February 13, 2026

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has vowed to take legal action against individuals spreading false and damaging rumours about him, following recent online speculation about his relationship with a fellow industry colleague.

In a statement shared on his X account, Arukwe said a particular social media user had been identified for allegedly circulating baseless accusations.
The rumours emerged after the release of the 2025 YouTube film Love In Every Word, which went viral and starred Arukwe alongside Nollywood actress and reality TV star Bamike Adenibuyan.

Arukwe explained that he chose not to directly name the individual to avoid giving further attention to the claims. However, he warned that those responsible would face consequences, emphasizing that the move is meant to deter others from spreading unverified information online.

“A specific account has been identified to spread false rumours and baseless accusations about me and my professional engagement with another colleague in the industry. I refuse to give such accounts the engagement they seek,” he said. “Believe me when I say this: that individual will be held accountable so others learn to respect boundaries and refrain from chasing clout at the expense of damaging someone else’s reputation.”

The controversy comes amid renewed public interest in the personal lives of other Nollywood stars, including BamBam and Teddy A, although neither Arukwe nor the colleague involved has confirmed the claims. The actor’s firm stance underscores the growing challenges celebrities face in protecting their reputations in the social media era.
