Governor Yusuf Approves Fresh Appointments, Promotions

Kano State Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved a new round of appointments and promotions, effective immediately.

The appointments were announced on Monday in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. According to the statement, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle was appointed acting director-general of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Matawalle, a retired permanent secretary and former executive secretary of the board, previously served in the same role. The statement described Matawalle as a career administrator who rose from assistant secretary to permanent secretary before retiring in 2014 after eight years in the position.

It said he oversaw Hajj operations for several years. The governor also approved the promotion of Yusuf Mukhtar to the rank of permanent secretary.
