The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, has expressed the Commission’s willingness to collaborate with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Amupitan made the remark while responding to an assurance of support from the Air Force during a courtesy visit to INEC’s headquarters in Abuja.
During the visit, the NAF pledged to provide logistical support to the Commission and also join other security agencies in ensuring adequate security during the elections.

“And I’ve always said this, that an election can only be as good as its logistics. So given the fact that we have always encountered logistics problems, it has dawned on me that maybe INEC has not properly exploited this great potential we have in the military logistics,” Amupitan said.

“And I’m happy that this private discussion I had with you this morning, where you were able to also bring out clearly some of those rudiments of the logistics.
“So we will be glad to work with you and see how we can overcome some of the challenges we’ve had with logistics.

“So I am pleased to note that we can effectively work with the Air Force, and also the other military arms, so that we have an effective logistics.”
