In a dramatic second‑leg Champions League Round of 16 encounter at the Etihad Stadium, Real Madrid came from behind to beat Manchester City 2–1, sealing their place in the quarter‑finals with a 5–1 aggregate victory.

The Spanish giants opened the scoring through Vinícius Júnior, converting a penalty early in the game after City were reduced to ten men when Bernardo Silva was shown a red card for a handball.

City’s fightback saw Erling Haaland level for the hosts just before halftime, giving City hope despite being a man down. However, Madrid regained the lead late in stoppage time with a second goal from Vinícius Júnior, who pounced in the 90+3rd minute to secure the win.

The result confirms Real Madrid’s qualification for the Champions League quarter‑finals, continuing their strong European form, while Manchester City’s hopes ended in disappointment despite a spirited performance.
