Three members of the House of Representatives have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
Thaddeus Attah (Eti-Osa, Lagos), Usman Zubairu (Birnin Gwari/Giwa, Kaduna), and Sani Noma (Argungu/Augie, Kebbi) left their former parties—the Labour Party, All Progressives Congress, and Peoples Democratic Party—to join the ADC.
In Niger State, Abubakar Buba (Chanchaga) and Ibrahim Mohammed (Bunza/Birnin Kebbi/Kalgo, Kebbi) moved from the PDP to the APC. Similarly, Mudashiru Alani (Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa, Osun) and Adetunji Olusoji (Odo-Otin/Ifelodun/Boripe) defected from the PDP to the Accord Party.
Meanwhile, David Fuoh (Sarduana/Kurmi/Gashaka, Taraba) switched from the APC to the PDP. Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu announced the defections during Tuesday’s plenary, with lawmakers citing internal party crises as the reason for their moves.
The House later adjourned to Wednesday following the death of Muhammad Hassan, who represented Dawakin Kudu/Warawa in Kano State and passed away on April 10 after a brief illness.
