Nigeria’s Super Eagles have retained their 26th position in the newest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Wednesday.
The team, led by Éric Chelle, delivered mixed results during the March international break—securing a 2-1 victory over Iran and settling for a 2-2 draw against Jordan.
Despite the unchanged global ranking, Nigeria remains the third-highest ranked team in Africa, trailing Morocco and Senegal, while Algeria and Egypt complete the continent’s top five.
On the global stage, France has climbed to the top spot, overtaking Spain as the world’s number one team.
The next FIFA rankings update is expected on June 10, 2026.
