Sen. Shehu Buba Commissions 40 Solar-Powered Boreholes Across Bauchi South**
Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has officially commissioned and handed over 40 solar-powered boreholes to communities spanning seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) in his district.
During the handover ceremony in Bauchi on Friday, Buba explained that the initiative is part of his broader plan to address critical infrastructure gaps, particularly in water supply, healthcare, education, and rural electrification.

“The solar-powered boreholes are designed to provide sustainable access to clean and safe water, tackling the persistent water scarcity faced by many rural communities,” he said.
The senator highlighted that the project would enhance public health, sanitation, and overall quality of life for residents. He added that the initiative reflects concerns raised during his campaign visits to communities across Bauchi South.
Beyond this project, Buba revealed that he has also personally funded the construction and rehabilitation of boreholes in other areas of the state, emphasizing that densely populated communities were prioritised to ensure maximum impact.
According to NAN, the borehole distribution was as follows: Bauchi LGA received 15, Toro LGA got seven, Alkaleri, Kirfi, and Tafawa Balewa LGAs received four each, while Dass and Bogoro LGAs were provided with three boreholes apiece.
Residents expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting that water shortages had long affected daily life, sanitation, and livelihoods. Malam Aminu Ado of Tirwun community described the project as “an end to our suffering,” while Ibrahim Muhammad, a local meat seller, said it would significantly improve his business operations.
Speaking on behalf of the communities, traditional leader Alhaji Aminu Danmaliki thanked Senator Buba for prioritising the welfare of his constituents, noting that the project would leave a lasting positive impact.
