PDP Slams Morka’s Comments as “Unfortunate and Delusional”

David Egbede, March 17, 2026March 17, 2026

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly criticised remarks by Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing his claims about the party as “unfortunate and delusional.”

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the PDP dismissed Morka’s assertion that the party had ceased to function as a political entity due to recent defections of some office holders.

The opposition party alleged that the defections were orchestrated by the APC through “force and inducement,” insisting that such actions do not reflect the true political will of Nigerians.

According to the PDP, despite these defections, Nigerians have continued to reject the ruling APC, accusing the party of worsening the country’s socio-economic conditions.

The statement further claimed that the APC has struggled with genuine membership mobilisation, alleging that in some states, governors resorted to using data from empowerment programmes to inflate party registers.

The PDP also referenced a recent disruption at a political event in Owerri, describing it as a sign of growing dissatisfaction with the ruling party across the country.

In a strongly worded remark, the party likened Morka’s communication style to propaganda, drawing historical comparisons to Joseph Goebbels and warning of the dangers of misinformation. It further criticised the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing it of undermining democratic principles.

The PDP concluded by stating that individuals defending the current administration would be judged harshly by history, as it described the present period as a critical moment for Nigeria’s democracy.
