Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State have purchased the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, endorsing him as the sole governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting in Kano, where party leaders unanimously expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership and performance.
Presenting the forms, former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said the gesture reflected a collective decision by party leaders to adopt Yusuf as the consensus candidate.
“We have already agreed that you are our sole governorship candidate and in order to actualise that promise, I hereby hand over these two important forms to you the expression of interest form and the nomination form to be duly completed and submitted,” Ganduje said.
According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, the stakeholders said the move was aimed at strengthening unity within the party and consolidating on the achievements of the current administration.
They noted that adopting a consensus candidate would promote stability, cohesion and a smooth electoral process ahead of the 2027 polls.Governor Yusuf, while receiving the forms, thanked the stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance.
“I appreciate this show of confidence and assure you of my continued commitment to people-oriented policies and the development of Kano State,” he said.
