The Kaduna State Police Command has recorded significant breakthroughs in its fight against crime, arresting 30 suspected kidnappers, four alleged gunrunners, and several car theft suspects during operations carried out in April 2026.

Speaking to journalists, the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, attributed the success to sustained intelligence-driven policing, coordinated tactical missions, and intensified patrols across the state.

He revealed that operatives recovered five firearms with live ammunition, including an anti-riot gun, as well as four stolen vehicles within the period.

One notable operation occurred along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway, where security operatives engaged suspected bandits in a gun battle.

The suspects reportedly fled with injuries, abandoning an AK-47 rifle and ammunition.

In a separate case, police rescued a seven-year-old boy abducted in Kubau LGA after kidnappers demanded a ₦40 million ransom.

The child was later found in Soba LGA, while a suspect arrested in Katsina State is assisting ongoing investigations.

The command also dismantled a car theft syndicate, with arrests made across Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina states.

Recovered vehicles include a Toyota Corolla and a Pontiac Vibe believed to have been stolen.

Additionally, suspects were arrested for illegal possession of firearms, including a locally made AK-47 rifle and another concealed weapon. In Zaria, a suspect was also apprehended with 44 sealed packages of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.

CP Muhammad reaffirmed the command’s commitment to making Kaduna unsafe for criminal elements, while appreciating the support of the Inspector-General of Police and the Kaduna State Government.

He also commended residents for providing credible intelligence and urged continued cooperation with security agencies.
