FCCPC Shuts Down Abuja Estate Over Alleged Housing Fraud

Rejoice Ewodage, April 23, 2026April 23, 2026

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has shut down Paradise Estate located in Life Camp Extension, Abuja, over allegations of housing fraud and consumer rights violations.

The enforcement action follows claims that the estate’s developers collected full payments from buyers without delivering the promised housing units. The Commission said the move was also triggered by a series of complaints from affected subscribers.

According to the FCCPC, despite repeated engagements and regulatory directives, the estate’s management failed to address the issues raised, prompting officials to seal off the premises.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers from unfair and deceptive practices, warning real estate developers to comply with contractual obligations and existing consumer protection laws.
