The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, visited Kano State on Sunday, carrying out a series of engagements that included consoling traders affected by the recent Singer Market fire, receiving political decampees, and commissioning party offices.
Prof. Yilwatda was first welcomed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside party leaders and key stakeholders, ahead of the governor’s formal reception into the APC. The meeting highlighted efforts to consolidate political support and welcome new members ahead of the 2027 elections.

The APC chairman then visited the scene of the Singer Market fire, which destroyed shops and goods over the weekend. He commiserated with affected traders and residents, expressing sympathy for their loss and concern over repeated incidents at the historic market.
In a further show of party expansion, Prof. Yilwatda officially received 4,169 decampees at the Township Stadium, Dawaki, in Dawakin-Kudu Local Government Area, and commissioned the Renewed Hope Office in both Dawakin-Kudu and Warawa Federal Constituency, marking the party’s strengthened presence in the region.

These engagements underscore the APC leadership’s commitment to engaging stakeholders, consolidating grassroots support, and responding to key developments in Kano State.
