Renowned activist Aisha Yesufu has claimed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) enjoys the support of more than 200 million Nigerians.
However, she acknowledged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) still holds significant political and financial advantages, including control of about 30 state governorships across the country.
Yesufu, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, said that despite the APC’s ability to outspend the ADC, the opposition party commands widespread grassroots backing.
She said: “The ADC is not mincing words that when it comes to money, the APC can outspend the ADC; definitely they can outspend us because they have our coffers, our national wealth, at their disposal to do whatever it is that they’re going to do with it.
“They have 30 governors, but we have over 200 and something million Nigerians, minus the 30 governors and a few of the supporters that they have.”
