The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced May 12, 2026, as the date for the inauguration of its newly elected state executives and chairmen, following what it described as peaceful and credible congresses held nationwide.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the exercise underscores its commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and the rule of law.
“The successful conduct of these congresses reflects our enduring commitment to democratic principles and due process,” Abdullahi stated.
“We commend all party members and stakeholders for exercising their democratic rights with maturity, discipline, and a shared sense of purpose.”
He added that while the inauguration is scheduled for May 12, the date could be adjusted if necessary.
“The inauguration will take place on May 12, 2026, or on a later date to be communicated by the National Working Committee,” he said.
The party also called on incoming state executives to align with the national leadership and remain focused on strengthening party structures under the leadership of National Chairman, David Mark.
“As you prepare to assume office, we urge all elected officials to remain steadfast in their dedication to the ideals and vision of the party,” Abdullahi added.
“The task ahead requires unity, discipline, and a continued commitment to building a strong, credible alternative for the Nigerian people.” he concluded.
ADC expressed confidence that the new state leadership will boost its grassroots presence and deepen engagement with citizens across the country.
