The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara State has officially received former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa and his supporters into its fold.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, and signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Abdulkarim Umar Lihidda, the ADC described the development as a significant milestone for its growth and unity in the state.
The statement read, “This momentous development represents a major boost to the strength, unity, and progressive vision of the ADC in Zamfara State.”
The party commended Marafa’s political experience, noting that his leadership would strengthen its mission and direction.
It added, “Senator Marafa remains a distinguished statesman, seasoned democrat, and respected leader whose vast political experience and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people will significantly enrich the party’s mission and strategic direction.”
The ADC also welcomed the influx of supporters who joined alongside him, describing their move as a vote of confidence in the party’s ideals.
It stated, “Your decision to align with our great party is a clear affirmation of confidence in the ideals of justice, equity, good governance, and people-centred leadership for which the ADC stands.”
Expressing optimism about the future, the party said the new alliance would reinforce its standing both in Zamfara and nationwide.
It added, “We believe that this new alliance will further consolidate the party’s position as the preferred platform for genuine democratic transformation and sustainable development in Zamfara State and Nigeria at large.”
The party further assured Marafa and his supporters of fair treatment and full integration, stressing its commitment to unity, internal democracy, and collective progress in Zamfara State.
