2027: Kwankwaso Calls on Nigerians to Take Elections Seriously After Joining ADC

David Egbede, March 30, 2026March 30, 2026

Former NNPP presidential candidate, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has urged Nigerians to approach the 2027 general elections with utmost seriousness following his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Kwankwaso, who officially registered with the ADC on Monday at his Miller Road residence, said citizens have a responsibility to liberate the country from poor governance and must show commitment during the electoral process.

“For you to understand what I’m talking about, from today I will not allow anybody to pass the gates of my house without ADC and INEC registered cards; therefore, go out and ensure that you register accurately with our party and INEC,” he said.

He emphasized the need for Nigerians to actively participate in the electoral process, stressing that the 2027 polls would be crucial for the country’s future.

Also speaking, ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark, described the development as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

According to him, the moment represents a renewed push toward building a more united nation.

He said the event marks “a defining moment in the history of the nation’s democracy” and “a special day in the journey to make Nigeria a better country and a more united nation.”

“We stand together today, not just as one political party but as people united to make our dear country, Nigeria, a better nation. Nigeria can be better and must work better for all Nigerians.”

Mark explained that Kwankwaso is highly welcome, along with millions of his supporters, to the ADC. He said they have come together in unity of purpose, conviction and vision.

“Your coming to ADC is not merely a political statement; it is a deliberate response to the clarion call by well-meaning Nigerians for all opposition leaders to be united and present a common front to protect our democracy.”
