David Egbede, March 30, 2026

Katsina United secured a goal less draw against Barau Football Club (F.C.) in a tightly contested Match-day 32 of the Nigeria Premier League encounter in Kano on Sunday.

The match, which saw both sides struggle to find the back of the net, ended without goals.

The result ensures Barau F.C. remains safe from relegation while leaving both teams eager to collect maximum points in the remaining fixtures.

Speaking after the game, Barau FC coach Eugene Agbabe, expressed satisfaction with the result, noting that his primary objective was to keep the team out of the relegation zone.

“When I joined, Barau was in the red zone. To God be the glory, we have achieved that. Today’s draw keeps us on track,” he said.

Agbabe emphasized the need for focus in the remaining six games, saying: “It’s not the end of the world.

“We still have six matches to play, and we must continue to work hard and the draw is a strategic outcome.

“We cannot predict what will happen in Enugu, but today, Barau is safe from relegation,” he explained.

Speaking also, the Katsina United Coach, Azeez Audu, also commended his squad for maintaining focus and composure throughout the game, describing the point as a “well-earned result” in a challenging away fixture.

He added that the team displayed great character in resisting Barau FC’s attacking threats and expressed confidence that the performance would boost his players’ morale ahead of their next league encounter.

Barau FC, which occupies 11th position on the table, now has 42 points from 32 games.
