President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed that he will celebrate his 74th birthday in a subdued manner, in line with the current mood of the nation.
In a personally signed message, the President expressed appreciation to Nigerians and supporters worldwide for their goodwill, prayers, and kind gestures.
He said, “I’m filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity given me to serve this great nation,” while also thanking those who sent messages and placed congratulatory adverts.
Tinubu acknowledged the support of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, noting their encouragement on the occasion.
Explaining his decision, the President said it reflects his tradition of marking birthdays in consideration of national circumstances.
Reflecting on the country’s situation, he admitted that Nigeria has faced challenges since the start of his administration’s reforms but expressed hope for better days ahead.
He stated, “Our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel,” while also noting temporary setbacks linked to the Middle East crisis.
Tinubu emphasized that progress so far is a collective effort, praising Nigerians for their resilience and support under his Renewed Hope Agenda.
He added, “As we march towards the third anniversary of our administration, it is my deepest conviction that we shall succeed in building a brighter future.”
Calling for unity and cooperation, the President urged citizens to stay committed to national development.
“Let us continue to work together to build a stronger, more prosperous and resilient nation that will make Nigeria the pride of Africa,” he said.
