Former Zamfara State governor and senator, Abdulaziz Yari, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as progress made in repositioning Nigeria.
Yari stated that the country is making steady gains under Tinubu’s leadership, urging opposition parties to put aside resentment and acknowledge the achievements of the APC-led administration.
He made the remarks in a statement on Friday through his technical committee representative, Okpokwu Ogenyi.
The former governor highlighted improvements in key economic indicators, noting that inflation has dropped to 15.06 percent from 34 percent, while foreign reserves have risen to $49 billion.
He also claimed that students are no longer dropping out of school due to strikes or financial constraints.
He cautioned Nigerians against what he described as misinformation and propaganda from opposition figures.
“We call on opposition figures and those who feel aggrieved as a result of the ongoing re-engineering and rebuilding of Nigeria by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government to bury their anger and open their eyes to see the benefits of the ongoing reforms of this administration, as we believe no one can see clearly if eyes are closed,” the statement reads.
The comments come as the ruling All Progressives Congress holds its national convention in Abuja, with President Tinubu, 32 governors, and over 8,000 delegates in attendance.
