The All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State has concluded arrangements to welcome Kashim Shettima, who is set to formally receive Governor Dauda Lawal into the party next Tuesday.
This was revealed by the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Gusau on Saturday.
Maikatako expressed satisfaction over Governor Lawal’s return to the ruling party, noting that the Vice President, alongside members of the party’s national leadership, would be in the state for the formal reception.
He described Zamfara as a traditional stronghold of the APC, adding that the governor’s decision to rejoin the party reflects renewed confidence in its platform.
“As chairman of the party in the state, I call on all members across the 147 wards in the 14 local government areas to turn out in large numbers to welcome the Vice President. This visit is significant as it will further strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.
Maikatako also urged party faithful to set aside internal differences and work collectively toward unity and progress.
“We must put factional interests behind us. The APC is one family, united by a shared vision of advancing the development of Zamfara State and Nigeria,” he added.
In his remarks, a former state chairman of the party, Lawal M. Liman, encouraged members to mobilise support at the grassroots level by spreading the message across wards and local government areas.
He emphasised the need for cohesion within the party, describing the APC as a collective platform committed to achieving common political goals.
