D’Tigress Captain Ogoke Retires From National Team

Nigeria’s D’Tigress captain, Sarah Ogoke, has announced her retirement from international basketball.

Ogoke made the announcement on Monday in Lyon, France, in the presence of her teammates.

The 35-year-old debuted for Nigeria in 2017 and went on to enjoy a successful career with the national team.

During her time with D’Tigress, she won the FIBA Women’s Afrobasket title five times.

The shooting guard bows out of the international scene as a medical doctor, as well as a wife and mother.

She is set to make her final appearance for D’Tigress in a match against Germany at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament on Tuesday.
