Mexico vs Portugal: Ticket Prices Crash Over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Injury

David Egbede, March 7, 2026March 7, 2026

Ticket prices for Portugal’s upcoming friendly against Mexico have dropped sharply following confirmation that Cristiano Ronaldo is injured.

Ronaldo limped off during Al-Nassr’s 3–1 win over Al-Fayha on Saturday, February 28. On Tuesday, March 3, the Saudi club confirmed the forward is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Further concern emerged when Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus spoke ahead of their league match against Neom SC, revealing that Ronaldo’s injury is more serious than initially believed and that the Portugal captain will travel to Madrid for treatment.

Portugal are scheduled to face Mexico at the Estadio Azteca on March 28 before taking on the United States on March 31 as part of their World Cup preparations.

However, the 41-year-old may now miss both friendlies due to the injury.

Following the update, ticket prices for the Mexico vs Portugal clash have fallen significantly.

A few weeks ago, tickets were selling for around 10,000 Mexican pesos, but they are now going for about 4,000 pesos or even less.

Ronaldo remains one of football’s biggest global stars and has never played a match in Mexico, making the fixture at the Azteca Stadium particularly special for fans.

Despite nearing the twilight of his career, Ronaldo continues to shine for Portugal, where he remains the nation’s most capped player and all-time leading scorer.
