The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has concluded its national convention in Abuja, with delegates approving key amendments to the party’s constitution and ratifying a new National Working Committee led by David Mark.
Chairman of the electoral sub-committee, Emeka Ihedioha, disclosed that 1,576 delegates were accredited, with 1,471 votes — about 94% — supporting the constitutional changes.
During the convention, resolutions from previous NEC meetings were also adopted, while motions were moved by Enyinnaya Abaribe and Ireti Kingibe.
The party announced major reforms, including waivers on membership requirements and suspension of zoning rules for executive positions.
In his closing remarks, Mark described the gathering as a defining moment, declaring it the start of the party’s journey toward national leadership.
The convention also saw the expulsion of several members over alleged anti-party activities, including Nafiu Bala and others.
