APC Spokesperson in Lagos Dies 24 Hours After Being Re-elected

David Egbede, March 5, 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has been thrown into mourning following the death of its Assistant Publicity Secretary, Karamo Yesiro.

Yesiro reportedly passed away barely a day after he was re-elected into the party’s state executive during the APC state congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium.

His death was announced by the party, in a statement issued on Wednesday night by its State Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo.

The party described his passing as shocking and deeply painful, noting that his demise comes at a time when his energy and commitment to the progressive movement were most needed.

Yesiro was praised for his dedication, loyalty, and unwavering belief in the ideals of the APC.

The party said although his tenure was tragically cut short, his humility, enthusiasm, and readiness to serve left a lasting impression on colleagues and members across the state.

“He was a vibrant party man whose contributions to the growth and stability of the APC in Lagos State will not be forgotten,” the statement read.

The party leadership extended heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, political associates, friends, and supporters, praying for strength and comfort during what it described as an irreparable loss.
