The African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by David Mark, has dismissed reports suggesting it is in talks with the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), insisting its priority remains an ongoing legal battle that could shape its path to the 2027 elections.
The party clarified that it is not engaged in any form of alliance discussions, describing such claims as false and speculative.
According to its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC is focused on challenging actions it considers unlawful, particularly those involving the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“We are not in talks with any political party. Our focus is on ensuring that the unlawful actions taken against our leadership are overturned,” Abdullahi stated, adding that the party remains committed to protecting Nigeria’s democratic process.
The clarification comes ahead of a Supreme Court hearing on April 22, where the Mark-led faction is seeking to overturn earlier rulings that questioned its leadership.
Meanwhile, INEC has withdrawn recognition of both factions within the party pending the court’s final decision.
