A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alwan Hassan, has expressed concern over the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 elections, following the defection of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking during a live interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Hassan admitted that the development poses a serious challenge for the APC, particularly in Kano State.
According to him, Kwankwaso’s political strength in Kano could significantly impact the party’s performance if not addressed.
“The APC is in trouble for losing Kwankwaso to ADC. Kano is big for the APC. If we lose Kano to Kwankwaso in 2027, we are in trouble.
“We lost Kano in 2023, and we will lose it in 2027. Kwankwaso is a master of the game in Kano.
“Kwankwaso had been in the market since 2023, and we have lost him to the ADC,” Hassan said.
