President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-nation visit to France, Kenya and Rwanda.
According to a State House press release signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the trip will see Tinubu participate in two major international summits.
The president’s first stop will be France before proceeding to Nairobi, where he will attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled to hold from May 11 to May 12.
The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on issues including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, global financing reforms and climate action.
The event, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” is expected to bring together African leaders and their French counterparts to deliberate on economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, technological advancement and peace-building initiatives.
The presidency said Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African countries and France.
Following the Nairobi summit, Tinubu will travel to Kigali to attend the Africa CEO Forum from May 14 to May 15.
The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, investors and policymakers, focusing on regional integration, cross-border investment and industrial growth across Africa.
Organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, the forum will provide a platform for discussions on building resilient and competitive industries on the continent.
At both events, Tinubu is expected to present his administration’s economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for investment and growth, while also holding high-level meetings with global and African business leaders.
The president will be accompanied by some ministers and senior aides and is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda engagement.
