The Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the public to ignore claims of a leadership vacuum following the recent judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
In a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Kingsley Akpos Oturubo, the party insisted that the court ruling has resolved its long-standing leadership dispute.
“We appeal to the general public to disregard the purported leadership vacuum in the party,” Oturubo said.
He encouraged aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections to continue their political activities, stressing that there is no cause for concern.
According to him, the current leadership under Abdulrahman Mohammed has been validated by the apex court and remains the legally recognised authority.
“The PDP led by Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed has come to stay. The Apex Court has validated his leadership and that is the position of the law,” he added.
Oturubo also expressed confidence that the party would field candidates and secure victories across all levels in Delta State during the 2027 elections.
He explained that the Supreme Court judgment delivered on April 30, 2026, nullified the Ibadan convention that produced a rival faction, effectively ending the internal crisis.
The party further called on aggrieved members to embrace reconciliation and work together to rebuild ahead of the next electoral cycle.
