David Egbede, April 8, 2026April 8, 2026

Tension flared outside an office of the Independent National Electoral Commission as a crowd of protesters gathered, demanding access but were stopped by officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

RBN correspondent said the demonstrators, many carrying placards and chanting, attempted to approach the premises but were prevented by security operatives who formed a barrier at the entrance.

The situation drew a large crowd, with bystanders and supporters assembling along the road.
Security personnel maintained a visible presence to control the crowd and prevent any breach of the facility, while traffic in the area was partially disrupted due to the gathering.

As of the time of reporting, there were no confirmed incidents of violence, though the atmosphere remained tense as protesters continued to demand to be heard.
