President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed condolences to the families affected by the recent terrorist attack in Ngoshe community, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, he mourned the loss of innocent lives, including military personnel and civilians caught in friendly fire during the Air Force’s aerial operations against fleeing terrorists.
Describing the attack as a “heartless assault on hapless citizens,” Tinubu urged residents of Borno and across the country not to succumb to fear.
He commended the swift response of the military, which resulted in the deaths of scores of terrorists and forced their retreat, while directing security agencies to act urgently to rescue those reportedly kidnapped during the attacks.
Furthermore, he called on the armed forces to step up measures to protect civilians nationwide and prevent assaults on military installations in the North East.
The President prayed for the souls of the victims, extended his sympathies to their families, and reaffirmed support to the Borno State Government, emphasizing the nation’s resolve to overcome terrorism and safeguard its citizens.
