Mr Babjimi Benson, who represents Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, has facilitated jobs for 22 youths in the constituency in Lagos State.
Benson also promised to assist more youths in the constituency in getting jobs.
This is contained in a statement signed by Benson’s media aide, Mr Olubode Oserinde, on Friday in Lagos.
Oserinde said the beneficiaries, employed by various Federal Government agencies, emerged through a structured and credible selection process.
He said the beneficiaries were given their letters of appointment on Thursday.
According to him, the majority of the beneficiaries are female, reinforcing the lawmaker’s inclusive approach to empowerment and support for women advancement.
“The beneficiaries were chosen based on their residency and connection to Ikorodu Federal Constituency rather than ancestral origin.
“This approach reflects a progressive model of representation anchored on inclusivity and fairness,” he said.
According to him, 20 beneficiaries were selected through the icarejob.ng platform, designed to create a robust database of qualified youths within the constituency, while two were randomly selected.
Oserinde attributed the employment to President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to job creation and youth empowerment.
“This is the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
“The president has consistently assured Nigerians that his administration would create opportunities for young people to rise,” he said.
