A Lagos-based content creator and thrift vendor, popularly known as Fems Thrift, has alleged that she and a friend were sexually assaulted after being lured to what was presented as a modelling job in the Ajao Estate area of the state.
According to her account, the invitation was communicated as a legitimate modelling opportunity, prompting her and her friend to honour the arrangement. However, she claimed that upon arrival at the location, the situation took a different turn, leading to the alleged assault.
The incident has sparked concern on social media, with supporters calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the victims. The case also highlights growing fears about the use of fake job offers to target unsuspecting young people.
As of the time of filing this report, details of an official police complaint were yet to be confirmed, but sources indicate that the matter has drawn the attention of relevant authorities.
Advocates have urged job seekers and content creators to verify opportunities carefully and prioritise safety when attending unfamiliar engagements, especially those arranged through informal channels.
