Ibrahim Abdulkarim, a political ally of former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, has claimed that former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has agreed to serve as Obi’s running mate in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Abdulkarim said the Obidient and Kwankwassiyya movements are already working towards an Obi–Kwankwaso ticket.
When asked whether the two politicians had reached an agreement, he responded, “Yes, I can categorically tell you that they have agreed.
“We all know that. Both the Obidients and the Kwankwassiyya movements are aware of the arrangement.”
Kwankwaso recently defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a move that has fueled speculation that both leaders may contest the 2027 presidency on a joint ticket.
