The FCT Police Command has announced the deployment of security personnel across all approved centres for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in the Federal Capital Territory.
Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, ordered the large-scale deployment of officers, operational assets and intelligence resources to ensure a safe and orderly examination process.
“This proactive deployment is aimed at providing a safe, secure and conducive environment for candidates, examination officials and all stakeholders throughout the examination period,” Sanusi said.
The move, according to the command, is in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
Sanusi directed all deployed operatives to maintain professionalism and remain vigilant.
“All officers must remain courteous but firm and take decisive action against examination malpractice, disorderly conduct or any form of security breach,” he added.
He also emphasised collaboration with other security agencies to secure examination venues and surrounding areas.
“We will work in close synergy with sister agencies to ensure full coverage of examination centres, their immediate environments and access routes,” he said.
The commissioner urged candidates, parents and the public to cooperate with security personnel.
“We call on all stakeholders to adhere strictly to examination guidelines and support security efforts to ensure a hitch-free exercise,” he said.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through its emergency lines.
