Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Lagos governorship candidate under the Labour Party (LP), has declared that he is now politically stronger than he was during the 2023 elections.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television with anchor Seun Okinbaloye, Rhodes-Vivour said data and credible polling suggest there is “no pathway” for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure victory in Lagos.
“I am stronger now than I was in 2023 and I have data and credible polling that there’s no pathway for APC to win in Lagos,” he stated.
He further warned that if the ruling party adopts the same strategy used in the last election, he is ready to confront it.
“But if they decide to go the way of 2023 in 2027, I’m prepared to meet them where they left me,” he added.
Rhodes-Vivour also dismissed allegations that he played ethnic politics during the election, describing the claim as a distraction from key issues affecting Lagos residents.
“The allegation that I played the ethnic card is a nonsensical statement and a distraction from what is going on in Lagos.
My family doesn’t have a question mark or controversy around us. We are proud Lagosians,” he said.
